Castle Church of St Catherine at Kremnica - Open Bass Trombone
Composed by Michael Forsyth
The influence of Slovak folk music pervades the pensive, solemn character of the Castle Church of St. Catherine. Inspired by a visit to the fortified church in Kremnica in Slovakia, it is a response to the beautiful interior of the building whose acoustics are perfect for its equally impressive organ. Indeed, there is an organ like quality throughout this movement in which the bass trombone can demonstrate its ability to sing with an expressive voice.
